Overview

Has your kiddo been dying to learn how to sew? This is the perfect opportunity to learn!

We'll Cover:

• Safety
• How a Sewing Machine Works
• Maneuvering
• Basic Stitches and their Functions 
• Simple Sewing Concepts

...and then we complete a small, simple project!

**Upon completion of this course, students will receive their "Sewing Learner's Permit," which will allow them to practice, attend Level II and test for their "Sewing Driver's License!"

Runs 6 Mondays from 4:15-5:45pm

Due to the nature of this course, attendance in all class dates is required.  If a class is missed it is the responsibility of the parent to schedule a private make up class to catch the child up prior to the next class in the course.  If an emergency/unforeseen event forces a student to miss, we will make every effort to allow a student to attend the remainder of the classes in a future course.

++Please assess your child's readiness for this class.  Not all 7-9 year olds are ready to sit, listen and carefully follow directions in this type of setting.  We will be using a motorized needle (essentially a power tool) and if the instructor feels any child is not ready to use this tool safely, MIY reserves the right to A) request that a parent attend with the child and assist for the duration of the course or B) remove the child from the course and offer a prorated refund.  It is our goal to prevent this entirely, so please use your discretion when registering.
