This 18 hour in-depth sewing course covers everything you need to know to break into the world of sewing! We expect you to know absolutely NOTHING when you begin :)
Course Break Down:
Day 1: Learn how a sewing machine functions, learn how to operate the machine, learn to thread the machine, understanding tension and troubleshooting problems.
Day 2: Learn basic sewing concepts, techniques, terminology, and briefly explore typical accessory feet.
Day 3: Field Trip! - Join us for a trip to the fabric store! Learn to navigate a fabric store and identify the materials you will typically use. Have the opportunity to ask questions as we go. During this trip we will choose and purchase the pattern and materials for our project.
Day 4: Learn about fabric (woven vs. knit), discuss grain line, learn to cut fabric according to pattern.
Day 5: Begin Project
Day 6: Complete Project
This course runs on 6 consecutive Thursdays (2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26, 3/5, 3/12) from 6:30-9:30 pm. The course fee is $270.00 and is due in full at the time of registration. This fee does not include materials for class project.
